E. James Arnett, Q.C.

Mr. Arnett was born and raised in Winnipeg and graduated from the University of Manitoba with B.A. and LL.B. degrees and from Harvard University with an LL.M. degree.

After practicing law briefly with Pitblado Hoskin in Winnipeg and with the Department of Justice in Ottawa, he practiced corporate law in Toronto for many years as a partner in Davies, Ward & Beck and then Stikeman Elliott.

He left the practice of law to serve as President and CEO of Molson Inc. and to lead  Molson’s transformation from a diversified holding company  to a focused brewing company. In this capacity he was also Chair of the Montreal  Canadiens  Hockey  Club.

He was Special Advisor to the Premier of Ontario on the steel industry 2004-2006 and on the automobile industry 2008-2009.

Mr. Arnett chaired the 2007 Agency Review Panel that made recommendations on compensation for senior executives in Ontario’s electricity sector agencies, on how those agencies could work together more efficiently and on strategies to address future human resource needs in the sector. Pursuant to the panel’s report, such compensation was significantly modified . Its recommended merger of the OPA and the IESO finally happened in 2014.

He served as Chair of Hydro One Inc. from April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2014.

He has served on the boards of several public companies and charitable organizations.

Jim Hinds

James D. Hinds is currently a Director of Hydro One Inc., the largest electrical transmission and distribution company in Ontario. Jim previously served as Chair and Director of the Independent Electricity System Operator (2005-2010) and the Ontario Power Authority (2010-2014) until their merger on January 1, 2015. In a prior life, Jim was an investment banker with TD Securities Inc. (2001-2003), Newcrest Capital Inc. (1996-2000) and CIBC Wood Gundy Inc. (1985-1996). A native of Sudbury, Ontario, Jim received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Victoria University at the University of Toronto, a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and a law degree from the University of Toronto​.

Bob Huggard, President and CEO, Ontario Energy Association

Bob has recently been the President of Lindaura Consulting, a management consulting practice in the energy and services industry.  His prior experience includes leading Direct Energy as President of Home and Business Services from 2008 to 2009, as President of Canadian Operations from 2005 to 2007 and as Executive Vice President from 2002 to 2005.

Prior to joining Direct Energy, Bob was the Vice President and General Manager of Home and Business Services at Enbridge from 1999 to 2002, the Vice President of Retail Services at Enbridge Gas Distribution from 1997 to 1999 and the Vice President of Marketing at Enbridge Gas Distribution from 1994 to 1997. Bob joined Enbridge in 1977.  Over his career, he has actively been involved with associations such as CGA, AGA, IGU, CABA and he served on the Board of OEA.

Bob serves on the Board of Crius Energy Trust and the non-profit organization ProAction Cops & Kids. Additionally, he was Chairman and director of SCITI TR Limited and the Trustee of SCITI Total Return Trust from May 2006 to May 2011, and was the CEO of the Administrative Agent of The Consumers’ Waterheater Income Fund from 2002 to 2006.

Bob holds a B.A. Honours (Economics) from Dartmouth College, an M.B.A. from the Schulich School of Business and an ICD.D Certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
