Description

Tuesday November 29, 2011 Toronto Roundtable: Is it a Sin to Fly? The Tax Take on Canada's Aviation Industry

Gregg Saretsky became WestJet President and Chief Executive Officer in April 2010. As President and CEO, Gregg is responsible for both the strategic direction of the company and the day-to-day operations of the airline, leading over 7,600 WestJetters as they delivery an exceptional guest experience.
Is aviation to be a tool of economic development, or primarily a source of government revenue to be taxed aggressively? Gregg Saretsky will examine the taxation challenges impacting Canadian aviation today, and the reasons behind the ever-growing number of Canadians driving to US border airports to fly. This is a private, invitation-only event with capped seating.
