Inside Access: 2016 Business Tax Burden Report Card

Description

Call with Adam Found, Metropolitan Policy Fellow, C.D. Howe Institute and Course Instructor, Trent University; and Peter Tomlinson, Sessional Lecturer, Department of Economics, University of Toronto

Heavy tax burdens can prevent businesses from choosing to locate or expand in a given jurisdiction, and can drive away investment. Interjurisdictional comparisons of overall tax burdens are important for businesses and the governments that seek to attract and retain them, but there are gaps in the way Canadian governments measure these burdens. Join us for a discussion about how governments can improve measurements of the overall tax burden, and how Canadian jurisdictions rank in terms of tax burdens.

Inside Access is an exclusive, members-only opportunity:

  • 30 minute briefing and Q&A on Institute papers
  • A quick and convenient way to understand why our research is relevant to you, your organization, and the broader economy
  • Free as a member benefit
