Marit Stiles, Leader of the Official Opposition, New Democratic Party of Ontario
Prior to being elected to this leadership role, Ms. Stiles was the Education Critic for the Ontario NDP. She’s been a passionate advocate for local public schools as a parent, eventually running and winning a seat as a school trustee before entering provincial politics in 2018.
Her career in public service, however, started decades ago when she started working in public policy and research.
Ms. Stiles also fought for Canada’s arts and culture sector at the bargaining table as the National Director of Public Policy and Research for ACTRA, the actor’s union.
As the Leader of the Official Opposition NDP, Ms. Stiles is committed to winning more for Ontarians, creating more opportunities for all, and building stronger, more caring communities.
