Ray Gilmour was appointed Deputy Minister of Treasury Board and Finance in September 2013.  Treasury Board and Finance is responsible for economic analysis, budget planning and providing a coordinated and disciplined approach to the management of government spending.

Prior to Ray’s current appointment, he served as Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Deputy Minister of Sustainable Resource Development and Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs.

He also served as the Assistant Deputy Minister of Corporate Operations for Alberta Health.

Before joining the Alberta government, Ray was Commissioner of Corporate Services for the City of Medicine Hat and prior to that he spent fifteen years in the banking and financial services industry.

Ray graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) before going on to complete a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).  He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD).
