Hashmat Khan is a Full Professor in the Department of Economics and Associate Vice-President (Academic Programs and Strategic Initiatives) at Carleton University. Previously, he worked as a Senior Economist at the Bank of England and as a Research Analyst at the Bank of Canada. Hashmat has held visiting positions at the University of California, Berkeley, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and the Vancouver School of Economics. His research focuses on macroeconomics from various empirical and policy-relevant perspectives, and he has published in leading economics journals. Hashmat is also the Co-Director of the Centre for Monetary and Financial Economics at Carleton University.
