Summary

Dr. Paul R. Masson has published numerous articles and books in various areas of economics, including macroeconomic modelling, monetary and fiscal policy, international finance, exchange rate regimes, and regional integration. His recent books include The Monetary Geography of Africa with Catherine Pattillo (Brookings, 2005) and Topics in International Finance (World Scientific, 2008). Until recently, he taught international finance at the University of Toronto, after careers at the Bank of Canada, the OECD, and the IMF, where he worked in the Research, European, and African departments. Since then, he has served as Special Advisor to the Governor of the Bank of Canada and Monetary Union Advisor for the government of Rwanda. He does economic consulting and is principal of Weatherstone Consulting, based in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada.
