Anchoring Sustainable Growth in Disruptive Times

Toronto ON, C.D. Howe Institute, 67 Yonge Street, Suite 300

Annual Sylvia Ostry Lecture: Jonathan T. Fried

Amidst concerns and tensions around trade, migration, technological change, security and an apparent resurgence in nationalism, governments around the world still profess shared objectives of creating jobs and growth, and making the economy work for all, despite their different economic and political systems. In particular, most all remain committed to meeting the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, Mr. Fried will share his perspective on the path Canada is taking to support sustainable growth both at home and internationally.

The Institute is deeply honoured to host the annual Sylvia Ostry Lecture to recognize the many accomplishments of Dr. Ostry, one of Canada’s foremost economists. The Sylvia Ostry Lecture, established in 1991, aims to raise the level of debate on trade and international policy by featuring an eminent international expert on a pressing topic. Please join us for this year's Sylvia Ostry Lecture to hear firsthand from Jonathan Fried.
