Jeremy Rudin, Former Superintendent of Financial Institutions
Jeremy Rudin is a Senior Advisor at the consulting firm Oliver Wyman and a member of the board of directors of Canada Guaranty Mortgage Insurance Corporation. He previously served as Superintendent of Financial Institutions for Canada, overseeing the prudential supervision of Canada’s banks and major insurance companies from 2014 to 2021.
As Superintendent, Mr. Rudin led key regulatory and supervisory initiatives, including strengthening residential mortgage underwriting and guiding Canada’s prudential response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He also represented Canada on the Financial Stability Board Steering Committee and served on the Council of Governors of the Canadian Public Accountability Board and the board of directors of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Prior to his appointment as Superintendent, Mr. Rudin was Assistant Deputy Minister, Financial Sector Policy Branch, at the Canadian Department of Finance for six years. In that role, he played a central role in developing policy measures to support Canadians’ access to credit during the global financial crisis. He also contributed to a wide range of financial sector initiatives, including the creation of the mortgage insurance "sandbox" in 2008.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Rudin was an economics professor at the University of British Columbia and Queen’s University. He holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto, an M.C.R.P. from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University.
Allison VanRooijen, Vice President, Consumer Credit, Meridian Credit Union
Allison is a credit risk management leader, with a focus on affordable access to credit and housing, digital and data transformation in the lending journey, and supporting the long-term financial well-being and literacy of borrowers.
For the past 15 years, she’s been leading the consumer credit risk function at Meridian Credit Union (provincially regulated) and motusbank (OSFI regulated), focused on mortgage adjudication, credit policy, compliance, strategy, portfolio management and credit recovery.
Her credit risk portfolio also includes unsecured, credit cards, and auto.
