June 1, 2018 – Hugh L. MacKinnon, Chair of the C.D. Howe Institute’s Board of Directors, announces the appointment of Anna Kennedy as a member of the Board. Kennedy was elected at the Institute’s Annual and Special Meeting of Members, May 30, 2018.

“On behalf of the Board, I am pleased to welcome Anna to our leadership group which is committed to the Institute and its goal of improving the lives of Canadians through fact-based policy research,” said MacKinnon. “She is known for collaborative leadership, keen passion for public policy and a sense of accountability, which we highly value at the C.D. Howe Institute.”

Anna Kennedy is Chief Operating & Chief Financial Officer of KingSett Capital Inc. Having joined the company in 2011, she has overall responsibility for KingSett’s financial, governance, investor relations, technology, talent development and other organizational platforms.

Previously, Kennedy enjoyed a twenty-five year career at Oxford Properties Group where she rose to Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, leading Finance and Information Technology teams. Kennedy is also active in the not-for-profit sector and served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Kennedy obtained her Chartered Accountant designation working at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.

Her operating and board experience will be valuable assets to the Institute.”
