July 22, 2019 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the re-appointment of Michael Devereux as a Research Fellow.

Professor Devereux is the Royal Bank Professor of International Economics at the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on international macroeconomics, exchange rates, and financial markets. He has a PhD from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
He has held positions at the University of Toronto and Queen's University. From 2003-2013, he was a Bank of Canada Research Fellow. He has had visiting positions at University College Dublin, the Hong Kong Institute for Monetary Research, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the International Monetary Fund, and the Bank for International Settlements.
Professor Devereux was the recipient of the 2010 John Rae Prize from the Canadian Economics Association, for the economist with the best research record over five years in Canada. Currently, he is a Senior Advisor at the Globalization and Monetary Policy Institute at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. He is a Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, MA, and at the Center for Economic Policy Research in London, UK. In 2014, he completed a three-year term as the first Director of the Vancouver School of Economics at the University of British Columbia.
