Conference on the Accountability of First Nation Governments and Institutions

Discussion of First Nation issues regularly come back to questions of governance, financial reporting and accountability mechanisms. The time is ripe to discuss accountability issues with federal legislation – Bill C-27 – under debate in the House of Commons. The C.D. Howe Institute convened a group of experts to deliberate options to improve accountability and financial reporting mechanisms for First Nation communities. Policy leaders discussed these issues in a private, off-the-record forum.
