February 17, 2022 – William Robson, CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the appointment of Ari Van Assche as a Fellow-in-Residence.

“Ari’s expertise in international trade and business is a key asset to the C.D. Howe Institute,” said Robson. “He joins us as a Fellow-in-Residence at a critical time, and we look forward to his contributions to our work on alleviating supply-chain pressures and furthering Canada’s trade interests.”

Mr. Ari Van Assche is full professor in international business, holds a professorship in Economic Diplomacy, and is co-founder of the International Institute of Economic Diplomacy at HEC Montréal.

He is also deputy editor of the Journal of International Business Policy and a Fellow at CIRANO.

Professor Van Assche holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and specializes in the organization of global value chains and their implication for public policy.
