September 3, 2020 – The C.D. Howe Institute is partnering with the McGill University’s Max Bell School of Public Policy to provide research opportunities for students in the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program, working alongside the Institute’s research team.

Funded by the Max Bell Foundation, the Policy Scholars program enables students to spend six months working at a prominent Canadian think tank, and provides Max Bell School MPP students with placements working in prominent Canadian policy organizations.

“The C.D. Howe Institute pursues its mission to foster economically sound policies by bringing together talented people from academia, the public sector, business and the professions,” said William B.P. Robson, CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute. “We are delighted to join forces with the Max Bell School of Public Policy to provide opportunities for graduate students to develop their skills and make a positive difference to the country.”

This year, the C.D. Howe Institute is welcoming MPP student Momanyi Mokaya to take part in its research program. Mokaya will undertake a project reviewing governments’ training programs and exploring how to prepare more Canadians for the needs of a changing economy through education, skills development and training policies.

“This opportunity is an invaluable chance for me to mature as an economist, to learn new things, and to improve on my past experiences,” said Mokaya.
