October 1, 2019 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the re-appointment of Paul R. Masson as a Research Fellow.

“Paul’s experience of applying analytical insights to policy challenges in Canada and around the world makes him a tremendous resource for the C.D. Howe Institute’s research program,” said Robson. “We are delighted at the prospect of continued collaboration.”

Dr. Paul R. Masson is principal of Weatherstone Consulting, an economic consulting agency based in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada.

He has published numerous articles and books in various areas of economics, including macroeconomic modelling, monetary and fiscal policy, international finance, exchange rate regimes, and regional integration. His recent books include The Monetary Geography of Africa (with Catherine Pattillo) and Topics in International Finance.

Dr. Masson taught international finance at the University of Toronto, after a career that saw him serve in roles at the Bank of Canada, the OECD, and the IMF, where he worked in the Research, European, and African departments. He has served as Special Advisor to the Governor of the Bank of Canada, and Monetary Union Advisor for the government of Rwanda.
