Toronto ON, Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt LLP Lecture Hall, C.D. Howe Institute, 67 Yonge Street, Suite 300

Building a Sustainable Future for Ontario

Andrea Horwath is the Leader of Ontario’s New Democrats.

Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Andrea knows that the financial success of our province depends on the financial success of families who make the province work.  Horwath has been a political and community leader for 20 years Andrea has provided strong effective leadership that has lead to real results and positive change.

After working in community development in Hamilton and Niagara region, she was elected to Hamilton’s City Council in 1997. Horwath was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in a 2004 by-election in the riding of Hamilton East and has been re-elected twice in the riding of Hamilton Centre.

As Leader of Ontario’s NDP since 2009, Horwath has doubled New Democrats seat count and increased popular support, and in Ontario’s minority government she’s worked hard to deliver real results and positive change for the people of the province.
