Andrew Kriegler was named Deputy Superintendent, in August 2013. He was first appointed Assistant Superintendent, Supervision Sector, in February 2013.

In this executive role, he is responsible for the supervision of more than 400 federally regulated financial institutions.

Mr. Kriegler’s career spans more than 25 years in the financial services industry, most recently as Senior Vice-President and Treasurer of CIBC, a position that he held from 2008 to 2012. Previously, he spent eight years with Moody’s, where he was Managing Director, Canada for six years and then Senior Vice-President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Moody’s head office in New York. In the 1990s, Mr. Kriegler worked at CIBC, BMO/Nesbitt Burns and Canada Trust, in areas such as debt capital markets, securitization and treasury.

Mr. Kriegler earned an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Science (Economics and Computer Science) from Trinity College, University of Toronto.
