Roundtable Luncheon - The Elephant in the Room: Climate Change and the Automotive Industry

Sponsored by:

Policy makers around the world are focusing on Climate Change policy to address GHG issues in the environment. The largest contributor to GHG emissions is the transportation sector and the largest group within transportation is the automotive sector yet there is currently little dialogue among government and industry regarding what needs to be done. Automotive sector expert Dennis DesRosiers will outline the key issues that need to be addressed to ensure progress in the industry on climate change.

Since starting his consulting company in 1985, Dennis has become literally the “go-to-guy” for interpretive insights into the North American automotive industry and is considered by the industry as one of North America’s leading analysts.

Over many years, Dennis has continuously made substantial volunteer commitments in time and expertise by ably serving on Local Community, University and College committees, boards and campaigns as well as generous financial support, all aimed towards the betterment of the students.

Dennis has established his own named scholarship at the University of Windsor and a second at Georgian College: the “DesRosiers Endowment(s) for the Advancement of Automotive Studies”.  His endowments annually award scholarships to students wishing to pursue a career in the automotive sector. This year he established his third Endowment with the Stratford Perth Community Foundation near his country home: “The DesRosiers Endowment for the Advancement of the SPCCF” designed to help youth in the area.

He is currently a Board member of the only publically traded dealer group in Canada, AutoCanada Inc., where his work has been recognized at helping AutoCanada become one of the top dealer groups in this country.

In 2012 he was awarded The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for his contribution to the automotive sector in Canada

Married with one adult daughter he now spends a third of his time at this country home near Stratford, Ontario where he can pursue his most beloved passions … woodworking, gardening and photography.
