Eileen Mercier has served as chair of Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan since 2007. Ms. Mercier was one of Canada's first female professional directors. She sits on the boards of CGI Group Inc., Intact Financial Corporation, Teekay Shipping Corporation and the University Health Network.

Her career encompasses 40 years of general management experience in a number of sectors. She has held senior positions at Abitibi-Price Inc., Gulf Canada Ltd., Canwest Capital Corp. and TD Bank. From 1995 to 2003, Ms. Mercier ran her own management consulting firm, Finvoy Management Inc., which specialized in financial strategy, restructuring and corporate governance issues.

Ms. Mercier was named one of the Top 25 Women of Influence by Women of Influence magazine in 2011 and one of Canada's 100 Most Powerful Women by the Womens' Executive Network in 2012.

Ms. Mercier holds an MBA from York University and an MA from the University of Alberta. She is a fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and the Institute of Corporate Directors, and was awarded honorary Doctor of Laws degrees from York University and Wilfrid Laurier University.
