Eric Girard is a native of Sept-Îles who grew up in Québec (city) and went on to study in Montréal. In November 2011, he became the treasurer of the National Bank. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the fields of investment and financial markets.
His love of economy, education, sports and public policy led to his involvement in the community, which includes sitting on the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation’s Board of Directors. He has also held a seat on CIRANO’s Board of Directors, in addition to Académie Saint-Clément’s governing board. He has also coached hockey and baseball.
Eric Girard holds a Bachelor Joint Honours in Economics and Finance from McGill and a Masters in economics from Université du Québec à Montréal.
