Inside Access: Head on Collision: The Fate of Autos under NAFTA

Conference Call

Conference Call with Dennis DesRosiers, Jon Johnson, and Christopher Sands

With the fifth round of NAFTA negotiations having just concluded, one of the major points of contention remains the treatment of the auto industry. Over the past several months, the C.D. Howe Institute has released a number of intelligence memos on the topic. Join this special Inside Access call to hear from the memos' authors about their take on the issue.

Dennis DesRosiers, President of DesRosiers Automotive Consultants, will discuss what President DonaldTrump can and can't do when it comes to NAFTA and the automotive industry. Jon Johnson, Senior Fellow at the C.D. Howe Institute, will explain how NAFTA has benefited the U.S. by opening up the Mexican auto market. Finally, Christopher Sands, Senior Research Professor and Director of the Center for Canadian Studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, will share the implications of the latest American demands, including rules-of-origin requirements and an end to tariff shifting.

Inside Access is an exclusive, members-only opportunity:
