Marcel Côté is a co-founder of SECOR, a management consulting firm that he led for over 30 years.

Mr. Côté obtained a Master of Science in Economics from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Ottawa. In 1986 he was bestowed with the title of Fellow from Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs.

A reputed economist and strategic thinker, he has been advising for the last 40 years numerous senior management leaders of companies and institutions of Québec, Canada as well as France, accompanying them in their strategic development.

Active in the economic development of Montreal for the last 30 years Mr. Côté has published numerous studies and papers on Montreal’s economy. In 2010, he co-presided a task force that issued an influential report on the fiscal and governance challenges of Montreal, A city that lives up to our aspirations.

Over the years, Marcel has also been closely associated with numerous cultural and community organizations of the City.

Mr. Côté has been awarded many honours for his tireless work within the Montreal community. He recently received the 2012Prix Arts-Affaires, awarded by the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal and the Conseil des Arts de Montréal given to a citizen who made a significant contribution to the arts and culture of Montreal.

In July 2013, Marcel Côté decided to run as mayor of Montreal, at the head of a wide-ranging coalition reflecting Montreal’s cultural and linguistic diversities.
