Michael Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer, joined Agrium Inc. as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in August of 2000. Mike is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, Ontario, where he earned his degree in Chemical Engineering. He brings over 30 years of international and executive management experience in the chemical industry. Prior to joining Agrium, Mike was President for Methanex Corporation, a leading global producer of methanol, headquartered in Vancouver, B.C. In addition, he held various senior positions in North America and Asia during his 18 years with Dow Chemical.
Mr. Wilson is on Agrium’s Board of Directors and is currently Past Chair of Canpotex Ltd.; and of the International Plant Nutrient Institute (IPNI); Director of the Fertilizer Institute (TFI); Director, Alberta Economic Development Authority (AEDA); Director, Celestica; and Director of the Calgary Prostate Canada Institute.
