Policy Conference: Commercial Aviation and Airports' Role in the Global Value Chain

The aviation sector supply chain - from airlines to airports to aviation-sector suppliers - is crucial to the competitiveness of all Canadian businesses and global value chains. To explore opportunities for growth in this sector, the C.D. Howe Institute hosted a half-day conference on Thursday, September 12, 2013 in Toronto on Commercial Aviation and Airports' Role in the Global Value Chain.

The conference convened industry leaders such as Robert Deluce, President and CEO of Porter Airlines, and Howard Eng, President and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. This off-the-record conference brought together senior decision-makers, industry leaders, aviation experts, and representatives of key stakeholder groups to discuss policy reforms in light of opportunities and impediments in the aviation supply chain.
