Helen Angus, Chief Executive Officer, AMS Healthcare 

As Chief Executive Officer at AMS Healthcare, Helen brings her many talents and a renewed energy to the organization’s role as a catalyst for change and innovation in healthcare. Helen has a demonstrated ability to lead complex organizations and inspire others to drive systems-level change. From 2018 – 2021 she was Deputy Minister in the Ontario Ministry of Health, where she helmed Ontario’s initial health response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She played a critical leadership role in the groundbreaking work of Cancer Care Ontario and as co-chair of the Council of Deputy Ministers of Health. Helen is currently a distinguished fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.

 

Marc Koehn, Managing Director, Strategy & Consulting Canada Health Industry Lead, Accenture

Marc Koehn is a Managing Director in Accenture’s Strategy & Consulting group, leading the Health Industry practice for Canada. He is an entrepreneur, management consultant and business executive with over 30 years of experience advising clients and leading professional services teams. Based in Victoria, he also work with public sector clients in British Columbia. Marc holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Victoria and a Master of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. He has completed Harvard University’s Leading Professional Services Firms executive program as well as Harvard Medical School’s Leading Digital Transformation in Health Care program. He holds the Information Systems Professional (I.S.P.) designation from the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) as well as the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS)™ designation from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

 

Dr. Gail Tomblin Murphy, Vice President, Research, Innovation & Discovery and Innovation Partnerships, Nova Scotia Health

Dr. Gail Tomblin Murphy is an internationally recognized expert in healthcare innovation and a leader in population needs-based approaches to health systems strengthening, workforce planning, and capacity-building. She is at the forefront of developing and implementing transformative virtual, digital, and AI solutions in Nova Scotia, Canada, and globally. As the driving force behind Nova Scotia’s Health Innovation Hub, Dr. Tomblin Murphy has spearheaded the integration of virtual and digital technologies to enhance access to care, improve health outcomes, and optimize healthcare resources, with a strong focus on rural and remote communities. Priority implementations include the launch of virtual care solutions across primary, urgent, and emergency care, and the establishment of the Care Coordination Centre, which uses real-time AI data to streamline patient flow and operations. Working with global experts in AI such as Siemens Healthineers, Varian, Accenture, Mimosa, Microsoft, and Google and system partners, Gail is heading key initiatives to support the launch of AI solutions in Applied Health in oncology, chronic disease management, robotics, focusing on considerations such as training and competencies, and operationalization, equitable access and long-term sustainability. In addition, Dr. Tomblin Murphy remains actively involved in global health workforce planning as Director of Dalhousie University School of Nursing PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centre. She is bridging needs-based technical analysis and application of innovation models of care and digital technologies to address global challenges in healthcare workforce and systems transformation.
