Susan Lund is a principal and the director of research at the McKinsey Global Institute, McKinsey & Company’s business and economics research arm. Dr. Lund’s most recent research has focused on how to revive job growth and boost long-term productivity in the United States.  Past research has assessed global investment and saving trends and impact on real interest rates, examined the scale and economic consequences of deleveraging in the United States and Europe, and looked at the long-term growth prospects for African economies. She has authored numerous articles in leading business and academic publications, including Foreign Affairs, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Economic Development, The International Economy, The Washington Post, and The Financial Times. She is a frequent speaker and commentator at global conferences on economics and financial markets. Dr. Lund has been at McKinsey & Company for 14 years and holds a Ph.D. in applied economics from Stanford University.
