December 7, 2017 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the appointment of Kenneth Engelhart, former senior vice president of Rogers Communications, as a Senior Fellow at the Institute.
“Ken brings a great combination of the telecommunications industry knowledge, regulatory experience, and passion for the Institute’s mission,” Robson said. “I am delighted by the prospect of this collaboration.”
In his role as an SVP for Rogers Communications, Engelhart provided regulatory and policy leadership for multiple Rogers brands and represented the company before the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and other agencies. Engelhart has appeared before the CRTC in most of the major telecommunications and broadcasting proceedings of the past 30 years.
Prior to joining Rogers Communications, Engelhart served as general counsel and director of regulatory affairs at the Canadian Business Telecommunications Alliance. Formerly a board member and chair of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association, Engelhart maintains a private legal practice focusing on communications, privacy, and public policy law.
In addition to his law practice, Engelhart is an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, teaching communications law.
Engelhart holds an honours bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Western Ontario and an LL.B. from the University of Toronto. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1982.
