December 6 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the re-appointment of David Longworth as a Research Fellow.

“Dave contributes a powerful mix of theoretical and practical insights to the C.D. Howe Institute’s work on monetary and financial-sector policy,” said Robson. “His reviews, writings and ideas have made him a valued collaborator, and we are delighted to be continuing the association.”

Dr. Longworth served as a Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada from April 2003 until his retirement from the Bank in March 2010. As a member of the Bank’s Governing Council, he shared responsibility for decisions with respect to monetary policy and financial system stability, and for setting the strategic direction of the Bank.

He is currently an Adjunct Professor at Queen's and Carleton University, and holds a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a BSc and an MA from the University of Alberta.
