April 25, 2016 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the appointment of The Honourable Howard I. Wetston, former Chair & CEO of the Ontario Securities Commission, to the Competition Policy Council.

“Throughout his distinguished career, Howard has led the charge on addressing many of Canada’s most challenging regulatory issues,” commented Robson. “The Institute is grateful for his intellectual contributions to this important research program.”

The Competition Policy Council comprises top-ranked academics and practitioners active in competition policy. It provides expert, independent analysis of emerging competition policy issues, including those potentially faced by the Competition Bureau.

The Council’s most recent report is entitled “Watching the Watchmen: The Need for Greater Oversight of the Competition Bureau.”
