May 2, 2016 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the appointment of The Honourable Marshall Rothstein, former Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, to the Competition Policy Council.

“Justice Rothstein is one of Canada’s leading legal minds, with deep experience in many economically vital fields,” remarked Robson. “We are honoured to have his advice at the table.”

The Competition Policy Council comprises top-ranked academics and practitioners active in competition policy. It provides expert, independent analysis of emerging competition policy issues, including those potentially faced by the Competition Bureau.

The Council’s most recent report is entitled “Watching the Watchmen: The Need for Greater Oversight of the Competition Bureau.”
