October 15, 2015 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the re-appointment of James Davies, Professor of Economics at Western University, as a Research Fellow.

“Jim brings a wealth of knowledge to the Institute’s research,” commented Robson. “His insights about tax, education and inequality are hugely valuable, and we are delighted to have his continued participation in our program.”  

Dr. Davies most recent Institute study is entitled: “Carrots & Sticks: The Effect of Recent Spending and Tax Changes on the Incentive to Attend University.”

Dr. Davies is a Professor of Economics at the University of Western Ontario. He has been a visiting professor at multiple universities including: Meiji University (Tokyo), Otto-von-Guericke University  (Magdeburg, Germany), Warwick University, and University of Munich. 

He was awarded the Allan Heinicke Memorial Service Award from University of Western Ontario Faculty Association in 2013, and obtained his Ph.D. from the London School of Economics in 1979.
