May 14, 2015 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the re-appointment of Michael Trebilcock as a Research Fellow of the Institute.
“Michael is an outstanding scholar with deep knowledge of policy and institutions,” remarked Robson. “We have drawn on his insights on regulation, competition policy, and much else in the past, and look forward to continued collaboration.”
Michael Trebilcock is Professor of Law and Economics, University of Toronto, and his most recent C.D. Howe Institute report, co-authored with Lawson Hunter and Edward Iacobucci, is entitled “Let the Market Decide: The Case Against Mandatory Pick-and-Pay.”
He has held fellowships and visiting professorships with the University of Chicago, Yale Law School, New York University Law School and Harvard Law School.
He was won numerous awards for his scholarly contributions, including the 2014 Donner Prize, and is the author of multiple books.
He graduated from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand with an LL.B. and completed his LL.M. at the University of Adelaide. He received an Honorary Doctorate in Laws from McGill University.
