Tammy Borgmann is Vice-President, Global Tax Advisory at Sun Life. In this role, Tammy leads Sun Life’s Global Tax advisory agenda, partnering with teams across corporate functions, Finance and the business to provide strategic tax guidance, support key initiatives, and help manage tax risk in a complex and evolving global environment.
Tammy brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, with deep expertise in corporate taxation, strategic tax planning and advisory for large multinational organizations. Tammy has previously held several senior leadership roles at Scotiabank, most recently as Vice-President, Domestic Tax & Global Tax Compliance, where she led the bank’s domestic tax function, supported strategic initiatives across the business, and oversaw tax reporting, compliance, indirect tax and dispute resolution.
Throughout her career, Tammy has been recognized for her collaborative leadership style and her ability to translate complex tax and business issues into clear, practical advice that supports sound decision-making. She has also built and developed high-performing tax teams while working closely with senior executives, finance partners, and external advisors.
In her spare time, Tammy enjoys skiing with her family and spending time at their cottage.
