Michelle uniquely combines deep institutional investment knowledge, strategic forward-looking perspectives, and practical hands-on experience to stewarding the capital of thousands of pensioners. As Head of Pension Investments, Michelle is a fiduciary responsible for overseeing the investment strategy for Glencore’s numerous Canadian pension plans in both the DB and DC space. She recommends the strategic asset allocation and investment policies for these plans and ensures their efficient implementation, which includes manager selection, investment administration, risk management, and ongoing oversight and governance.
With over two decades of active involvement in the Pension Investment Association of Canada (PIAC), Michelle has earned the prestigious PIAC Volunteer of the Year award while serving on their Board of Directors and various committees. She engaged with regulators as PIAC’s representative on CAPSA’s Industry Working Groups, providing extensive feedback during the modernization of the CAPSA Capital Accumulation Plan Guidelines and Governance Guidelines.
Currently, Michelle serves as an investment advisor on the Investment Committees of the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Salvation Army. She brings her governance expertise as a trustee on Glencore’s Quebec pension committees and is proud to be Glencore’s representative on the Pension Policy Council of the C.D. Howe Institute. Michelle is passionate about providing cost-efficient, institutional-quality solutions to support the personal financial independence journey of individual Canadians.
