Abid Kazmi is Vice President, Institutional Risk Solutions at CIBC Global Asset Management where he is responsible for developing and delivering innovative asset liability solutions for pension plans and insurance companies. His expertise enables CIBC Global Asset Management to provide holistic, client-centric strategies that optimize total portfolio risks and returns.
With over 20 years of experience spanning investment, risk management, and liability roles at leading banking, insurance, and consulting firms, He is recognized for his ability to bridge the gap between investment objectives and liability constraints, helping institutional clients achieve long-term financial resilience.
Abid holds a BA (Honours) in Economics from Western University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and holds the Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) designation. He also serves on the board for the Actuarial Foundation of Canada, as well as active involvement with actuarial industry committees.
