Peter Weltman served as Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer from 2018 to 2023, where he and his office produced reports on the state of the province’s economy, fiscal position, and a first-of-its-kind analysis of the cost of climate change impacts on publicly-owned infrastructure. Most recently, he served as Director and Employee Owner at Technomics, a company that does predictive cost and risk analytics for complex projects.
Peter is a member of the Canadian Infrastructure Council, which provides all orders of government with impartial, evidence-based research and analysis to help improve infrastructure planning and decision-making in Canada. Additionally, Peter is a founding member and former President of the Canadian Chapter of the International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEEA). He also served on the Government of Ontario’s Peel Transition Board.
In 2025, Peter was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his support of democracy, through his work to improve fiscal transparency and accountability in government finance. Peter holds an undergraduate degree in political science, and an MBA with a concentration in finance and governance. He is fluent in French and English.
