Rick Ekstein is a Canadian entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist with extensive experience in business leadership and governance. He is the founder of Phaze 3 Associates, a family office focused on real estate development, private equity, and venture capital.
Previously, Rick served as President and CEO of Weston Forest Products and the Weston Forest Group of Companies, leading operations in more than 40 countries across four continents. Under his leadership, Weston was recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, one of Profit 500’s Fastest Growing Companies, and one of Waterstone Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures.
Rick also serves on several corporate and non-profit boards and is active in mentoring Canada’s next generation of business and civic leaders. In recognition of his contributions to Canada, he was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025.
