The Jack Mintz Lecture – Compete to Win: Capital Gains Reform for a Global Market

Description

Roundtable Luncheon with Jamie Golombek,  John McKenzie and Dr. Jack M. Mintz.

Canada’s competitiveness is increasingly defined by its ability to attract and retain capital – both from global investors and homegrown innovators. In an environment where jurisdictions are aggressively redesigning their tax systems to court investment, Canada’s capital gains regime plays a decisive role in shaping where entrepreneurs build, scale, and exit, and where international investors choose to allocate capital.

This Roundtable Luncheon will focus on how Canada can modernize its capital gains framework to drive domestic investment, attract foreign capital, and strengthen Canada’s position in the global competition for talent, growth, and innovation.

C.D. Howe Institute events and webinars are open to members and their guests.
