Unveiling Canadian Governments' Pinocchio Index: Budget Votes and Financial Results
Toronto Roundtable Event
William B.P. Robson Colin Busby C. Scott Clark Catherine Swift
William Robson and Colin Busby will unveil their latest survey of the quality of provincial and federal budget promises and outcomes. Scott Clark, former federal Deputy Minister of Finance, and Catherine Swift, Chair of the Board of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, will give their perspectives on fiscal accountability to taxpayers in Canada.
Which chronic over-spenders topped the Pinocchio index in the past decade? How can legislators and taxpayers better hold governments to account? Which governments present the most meaningful financial information -- and which the worst? Who tends to hit budget targets -- and who tends to miss? Join us to debate these topics with the expert panel.
This is a luncheon roundtable to which members, their guests, and the media are invited.
Financial support for this event was provided by the Lotte & John Hecht Memorial Foundation
