Summary

Bonnie Lysyk completed her 10-year term as the 13th Auditor General of Ontario on September 3, 2023. Prior to this appointment, Bonnie served as Provincial Auditor of Saskatchewan, and as the Deputy Auditor General and Chief Operating Officer of Manitoba. Bonnie was the first woman Auditor General in each of Saskatchewan and Ontario.

Lysyk has also held senior positions in both the private and public sectors during a 35-year career spent in three provinces, including senior roles at Manitoba Hydro, the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission, a large insurance company and a large pension fund.

A native of Winnipeg, Lysyk graduated from the University of Manitoba and obtained her designation as a Chartered Accountant while working with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). She also holds a Masters in Business Administration and obtained an ICD.D designation from the Rotman School of Business. In 2017 Bonnie was named a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and in 2021 was the recipient of the Brock University-Goodman School of Business 2020 Distinguished Leader Award. In 2023, she was recognized by Auditors General across Canada for her valuable contribution and commitment to her colleagues, to the profession of legislative auditing, and to the citizens of Ontario and Canada.

Bonnie has served as a board member/committee member in many professional and volunteer not-for-profit organizations, and has delivered training and publicly presented nationally and internationally in the U.S.A., Africa, Russia, United Arab Emirates, and Australia.
