Summary
Mr. Johnston has held a number of executive roles in the real estate industry. He is a Chartered Professional Account with more than 30 years as both as the CEO as well as CFO (12 years for a public company). His most recent full time role was as the Chief Executive Officer of CreateTO, the City of Toronto’s real estate arm with a mandate to develop City buildings and lands for municipal purposes. Mr. Johnston served as Chief Operating Officer of Mattamy Homes from 2012 to 2018. Prior to joining Mattamy, he worked in several management roles at Monarch Corporation from 1984 to 2012, serving as President from 2000 to 2012. Mr. Johnston currently serves as a Director of the C.D. Howe Institute, the Bruce Trail Conservancy and Victoria University at the University of Toronto. He is also a Director of Sienna Senior Living and Mortgage Corporation of Canada Inc.
In addition to being a CPA, Brian holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, and resides in the City of Toronto.
