Jimmy Yang is a Managing Director and Accenture’s Canadian Health Portfolio Leader. He is also a Member of Accenture’s Global Health Strategy Council, a global consortium of 15 countries where lessons learned and best practiced is shared. He sits on Accenture Health’s Global Leadership Council.
In his role at Accenture, Jimmy is responsible for the overall P&L for Canada health and running operations of a health practice of 190 health professionals spanning strategy, operations, technology, data and AI, and design.
Throughout Jimmy’s career, he has worked both in industry and advisory capacities in the health care and life sciences sectors – with hospitals, government, agencies, primary/seniors/rural care, clinical research organizations and pharmaceutical companies. He has led and advised in the domains of digital health transformation, corporate strategy, clinical and health system planning, and new models of care with technology and AI as enablers.
Jimmy is a respected thought leader, advisor and practitioner who works side by side with leaders across providers, provincial health authorities, and private sector health in their transformation journeys. He has worked closely with executives in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Quebec, British Columbia, and with key providers both public and private. He has been asked to present and keynote at key health sector events such as HIMSS, University of Waterloo Times Higher Education, eHealth Canada, and OMD Educates. He has authored national thought leadership focused on new care models enabled by technology and AI, Canadian citizen preferences on digitally enabled care, and closer examinations of future workforce models.
Jimmy co-founded and serves as Vice Chair and Board Member of Red Maple Trials Inc., an Ottawa-based clinical research organization (CRO). It works with global biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and research centers of excellence to help support phases I through IV research programs in allergy, asthma, rare disease, and immunology. He has previously held commercial roles at GlaxoSmithKline and ScheringPlough.
Jimmy also sits on the Advisory Board on the Krembil Centre for Health Management and Leadership. The Centre is a leading Canadian hub for education, applied research, and industry outreach at the Schulich School of Business. A key strategic focus of the Centre is the adoption and integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare, as well as preparing leaders for the evolving digital and AI-driven landscape.
Additionally, Jimmy is an Adjunct Professor and member of faculty in the Health Industry Management Program at York University’s Schulich School of Business. He also sits on the Health Board of TechNation Canada.
Recently, Jimmy was awarded 2024 Digital Health Executive of the Year by Digital Health Canada.
Jimmy was born in Montreal, raised in Ottawa, has lived in parts of Toronto for most of his life, and now resides in Oakville with his partner Samantha and his two children, Henry and Avery, and his beloved dog Lowry (named after Kyle Lowry). Jimmy completed his undergraduate education at the University of Toronto and his graduate MBA from the Schulich School of Business, York University. In his spare time, he volunteers and spends his time in music.
