Summary

Jonathan Lebi became Deputy Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development in April 2025. 

Prior to his appointment, Jonathan was Deputy Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks. Jonathan has dedicated over 20 years to the Ontario Public Service, holding executive roles across several key areas, including Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Indigenous Affairs, Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Cabinet Office.  

Jonathan is a people-focused leader and a consummate believer in the power and importance of public service. He also values building community. Jonathan served as the Federated Health Charities Executive Chair from 2019 to 2021 and was previously on the Federated Health Charities Board of Directors.  He is also very involved in various community boards and initiatives — having served as chair of his children’s school board and sitting on committees for various charities, including for a local children’s aid society. 

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Arts degree in economics from McGill University. He has also completed senior executive development at the University of Western Ontario, Ivey School of Business.
