Summary

Marko is the Vice President of Public Affairs at GCT Global Container Terminals, overseeing government relations, regulatory affairs, communications, media relations, Indigenous and stakeholder engagement, as well as GCT’s ESG and decarbonization initiatives.

Previously, he contributed to transformative strategies at the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, including a major public awareness campaign promoting diversified trade infrastructure and managing communications during key events. As a senior advisor to the Minister of International Trade and Foreign Affairs, Marko played a key role in stakeholder engagement and project prioritization for the Asia Pacific Gateway.

He currently serves as Chair of the BC Marine Terminal Operators Association (BCMTOA) and is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILTNA). He previously served as Board Secretary and member of the National Association of Waterfront Employers (NAWE) in the U.S.

A University of British Columbia graduate and proud father of three, Marko actively supports his community through initiatives like the VGH-UBC Hospital Foundation Vitality Gala and the “What Really Matters” YMCA campaign in Coquitlam.

Marko was named one of Business in Vancouver’s Top Forty under 40 in 2017, as well as recognized on the BC 500 list of most influential business leaders along with receiving King Charles III’s Coronation Medal in 2025.
