Markus von Wartburg is a competition economist and Vice President at Analysis Group in Toronto. He has in-depth expertise in industrial organization and competition economics, with a focus on applying advanced econometric models and economic analysis to complex competition-related matters in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
He previously served as the Chief Economist and T.D. MacDonald Chair in Industrial Economics at the Competition Bureau of Canada, where he advised on economic issues related to investigations, litigation, advocacy, and competition policy. He has extensive experience across a wide range of industries and all areas of competition economics, including mergers, monopolization and abuse of dominance, price-fixing, class certification, and quantification of damages.
Markus von Wartburg holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of British Columbia.
