Sandy Walker is a senior partner at Dentons Canada LLP and is co-chair of the Competition and Foreign Investment Review Group and former lead of its national Regulatory Practice Group. Sandy’s practice focuses on creatively navigating complex regulatory challenges for Canadian businesses. In particular, she has substantial experience securing approvals for mergers and acquisitions under the Competition Act and Investment Canada Act and advising clients on competition compliance in relation to pricing and other trade practices in supply and distribution arrangements as well as competitor collaborations.
Sandy is a former member of the Executive of the Competition Law and Foreign Investment Review Section of the Canadian Bar Association (from 2018 to 2024) and served as Chair of the Section in 2022-23 when she led the Section’s response to government consultations on major amendments to the Competition Act. Sandy has held a senior leadership position within the American Bar Association’s International Law Section Antitrust Committee.
Sandy frequently speaks and writes on cutting-edge foreign investment and competition law topics and has appeared before the House of Commons Industry Committee and the Competition Policy Review Panel. Earlier in her career, Sandy taught European Union law for four years at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law.
