She is currently Head of Policy and Communications at Shakepay, where she led the company to become the first crypto-native firm and third fintech to join Payments Canada.
At Shakepay, Sophia has driven national conversations on enabling Bitcoin in qualified investment accounts, recognizing stablecoins as payment and settlement tools, addressing access to banking, and advancing Open Banking and Payments Modernization. Previously, she helped launch Lyft in Canada and advised global clients—including Meta, eBay, Alibaba, and EMD—at FleishmanHillard and APCO Worldwide. Her work spans all levels of government and focuses on building bridges between innovators and policymakers.
