Graph of the Week: US Manufacturing Trade Balance – Surpluses with Resource-Rich Nations, Deficits with Major Exporters

In 2024, the United States ran a global manufacturing trade deficit of more than US$1.2 trillion. However, it did enjoy manufacturing surpluses with many resource- or tourism-oriented economies. Canada was number two among the countries or economic grouping with which the United States recorded manufacturing surpluses in 2024, behind OPEC.
