February 11, 2026 – The C.D. Howe Institute is pleased to announce that it has received a $250,000 donation from Intact Financial Corporation.
This gift represents another major contribution to the Institute’s ongoing Insight, Engagement, Impact campaign, and will support its new office at 110 Yonge Street.
Intact is a leading national provider of property and casualty insurance and a long-standing corporate member of the C.D. Howe Institute. The company also participates in the Institute’s Financial Services Research Initiative, and its Chief Executive Officer, Canada, Louis Gagnon, serves on the Institute’s Board of Directors.
“We are deeply thankful for Louis’s ongoing guidance and leadership, and for this latest gift by Intact,” says William B.P. Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute. “Intact’s support will help the Institute leverage its new premises to provide the research and discussion that makes it Canada’s most influential think tank.”
Intact Financial Corporation has donated millions to charities supporting children and families living in poverty, and since 2010, has committed $25 million to over 100 climate adaptation projects. Its signature partnership with the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation at the University of Waterloo has advanced practical, evidence-based climate-ready solutions that help communities, governments, homeowners and businesses reduce the impacts of extreme weather conditions.
