December 8, 2025 – The C.D. Howe Institute’s Board of Directors is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Jeremy M. Kronick to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer following a rigorous and international search.
“Jeremy’s deep policy expertise, leadership qualities, and tenured experience across all aspects of the C.D. Howe Institute made him the standout candidate,” said Blake C. Goldring, Chair of the C.D. Howe Institute Board of Directors and Executive Chairman of AGF Management Limited. “He will build upon the legacy and solid foundation established by the current President and CEO, William B.P. Robson.”
“It is an honour to assume the role of President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute,” said Dr. Kronick, current Vice-President of Economic Analysis and Strategy. “I look forward to working with the Institute’s talented staff and stakeholders across the country to advance its mission of raising Canadians’ living standards.”
“Jeremy’s qualifications in macroeconomics, financial and monetary policy, and his broad expertise in areas critical to Canada’s economic future made him the clear choice,” said Mr. Robson. “I am confident he will guide Canada’s most influential think tank to new heights.”
Dr. Kronick’s appointment will begin mid-spring 2026, following a transition period. Upon his retirement, Mr. Robson will become the inaugural holder of a research chair established in his honour.
Jeremy M. Kronick joined the C.D. Howe Institute in 2015 as a Senior Policy Analyst and has since taken on progressively senior roles. Since 2024, he has served as Vice-President, Economic Analysis and Strategy and Director of the Institute’s Centre on Financial and Monetary Policy. In 2023, he and co-authors Steve Ambler and Thorsten Koeppl received the Canadian Economics Association’s Doug Purvis Memorial Prize for the best publication on economic policy.
